Tips For Planning A Honeymoon

When you start your wedding plans, you will receive advice from everyone, from choosing the best venue to finding the best local wedding vendors. Soon you will read hundreds of articles about planning the perfect wedding. But there is one thing no one talks about, and it is equally important as saying I do, that is your honeymoon and how to plan it. Some couples even forget about making honeymoon plans because they are so focused on the ceremony and reception.

So, buckle up and get ready for your romantic adventure because, as your personal travel planner, I am about to give you the best tips for planning a honeymoon and enjoying your first vacation as a married couple. I’ll give you the insight only a honeymoon planner can provide and set you on the right path to enjoy your honeymoon. Because after all those months of wedding planning you will need to relax and enjoy.

Start planning soon

Ideally, it would be best if you began with your honeymoon plans the minute you set a wedding date; this would be around 10 to 12 months before. The reason is you need to have enough time to prepare with passports, plane tickets, accommodation, and so on. But it also depends entirely on the destination and season. For example, if you are traveling to a popular destination during peak season, the sooner, the better so you can have enough options in terms of hotel and experiences availability.

If your destination is local or you are planning to visit during the low season, you can wait up to 4 months before the date to begin your plans. Keep in mind you don’t have to travel to the other side of the world to enjoy your honeymoon, and we can plan a trip within your country that will be equally romantic and unforgettable.

Set a realistic budget

My biggest advice to couples is to consider the honeymoon within their wedding budget because if you don’t, you might not have a honeymoon at all. Perhaps you are thinking how someone could forget about separating some money for their honeymoon while wedding planning, right? Well, it happens more times than couples like to admit, so budgeting from the beginning is the best you can do.

Choose a destination together

Planning a romantic adventure is a task for two, and you should take enough time to pick the perfect candidates for your honeymoon. As a Honeymoon planner, I need to tell you how important it is to get involved not only in your wedding but also in planning your honeymoon. When you leave the task to your partner, or you take the matter into your hand’s chances of planning a trip only considering your dreams and desires are big. You must think about this trip as the first of many as a couple and choosing a destination you both love is crucial. Perhaps the place you choose becomes your traditional family vacation destination.

Hire a personal travel planner or honeymoon planner

Planning your wedding is challenging enough, add the pressure of planning a once in a lifetime honeymoon, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. No sweat, COMO-GO has you covered. From picking the right destination, to flights, hotels and romantic touches along the way. Whether you’re looking to relax on far away white sand beaches, or hike to majestic views for a picnic, you and your partner can set your mind at ease when you hire COMO-GO.

Honeymoon DatesPick the right date

There is a common belief that you should hop a plane as soon as your reception is over but let me tell you it is not entirely necessary. Your honeymoon doesn’t have to happen right after your wedding; you can book it for the next month, summer, or anytime you want. Because let’s face it, wedding planning and the wedding day itself is a lot to deal with, and you end up so happy but also exhausted, which could mean you won’t fully enjoy your honeymoon.

The location of your honeymoon could also tell you when the time is right; imagine you tie the knot during the summer at a beautiful outdoor wedding venue with a magical ceremony. But you have always dreamt about traveling to a cozy cabin in the woods while snow fell from the sky; this could mean your honeymoon date will be a couple of months after your wedding.

Plan your itinerary

My magical recipe for an incredible honeymoon involves choosing the right location, setting a budget, and planning your moves. Although spontaneity is important, you don’t want to leave your entire stay to faith. You can make a list of places you want to visit, experiences, and even food you want to taste. Then you can look up which are the most seen spots and perhaps add them to your list, and then it is time to build an itinerary by day and have it all ready. And of course, leave some days to simply relax or repeat what you loved the most.

Check your passport and other travel-related documents

So, you have a location, a date, and an awesome itinerary ready, outfits for every occasion and pretty much a foot set on the plane, but how about your passport or visa or any other requirement your destination needs to welcome you? Forgetting about those tiny but crucial details could ruin your romantic adventure before it even begins.

Enjoy

Honeymoons are the perfect way to celebrate the step you have taken to join your life with your partner. Still, with the influence of social media, they have also turned into a competition to nail perfect photos and share it all by the minute with the world. And don’t get me wrong, you will have those Instagram-perfect pictures, especially with me as your personal travel planner, but you should also be present and enjoy with your eyes and not through a screen this one in a lifetime moment with your loved one. So, my last and most important tip is that you ENJOY your honeymoon.
